It was my great honor to have the chance to attend the Rome Med Dialogues 2024, between November 25 and 27 at the Rome Cavalieri – Waldorf Astoria Hotel (Via Cadlolo 101) in Rome. Life is a journey filled with unexpected turns, and sometimes, opportunities slip through our fingers.

Rome Med Dialogues 2024 :

The Rome Med Dialogues is an esteemed international conference, that brings together policymakers, scholars, and leaders. It fosters an open, informal high-level debate with institutional representatives, experts, analysts, young people, civil society representatives, and the economy. Additionally to the media to address critical issues affecting the Mediterranean region.

Being invited to this event was an honor, and I was excited about the prospect of engaging in meaningful conversations and connecting with some of the most influential minds.

The invitation also promised a visit to the beautiful city of Rome, a place I’ve longed to explore. Known for its historical landmarks and stunning architecture, Rome is a treasure trove of cultural heritage. I envisioned myself wandering through the ancient streets, marveling at the Colosseum, and experiencing the vibrant Italian lifestyle.

An big opportunity to meet with Italian leaders

Moreover, meeting with global leaders, including the Italian President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, and the President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella, was a highlight I looked forward to. Engaging with such prominent figures would have provided invaluable insights, into global policies and leadership.

White edition of 2023

This invitation was particularly significant as I had been invited to the previous edition of the Rome Med Dialogues. Which was postponed due to the situation in Gaza. The anticipation and subsequent disappointment of missing out twice on this opportunity were profound.

Rome Med Dialogues 2024, a missed Media coverage due to…

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to attend this year’s conference. To add to the setback, my visa was issued only after the end of the conference, which made it impossible for me to participate. While it was a letdown, it also served as a reminder that life is full of surprises, and missed opportunities often pave the way for new ones.

I remain hopeful and open to future possibilities. The invitation to the Rome Med Dialogues 2024, the leading conference on the Mediterranean, will always be a cherished memory, reflecting my growing involvement in international discourse.

A big “Grazie” for the Italian authorities:

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Italian Embassy in Tunisia, for their efficient processing of my visa. Also to ISPI and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for their support that was crucial in enabling me to pursue this golden opportunity. And enhance my media coverage of this significant Mediterranean dialogue in Rome.

Without forgetting the Almaviva service for their great service regarding visa process for Media, and general people.

See you in 2025…

As I continue my journey, I am committed to engaging with the themes and issues discussed at the conference through other channels. Eager to contribute to the ongoing dialogue in my own way.
