UNOC 2025 – In November 2024, I had the chance to explore Nice, France. A city whose coastal beauty and cultural energy left a strong mark on me. I couldn’t have imagined then that I’d later be invited back in a professional capacity.

It’s with great honor that I was recently accredited as media for the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 2025). Scheduled from June 9 to 13, 2025.

The United Nations has entrusted France and Costa Rica with organizing this historic event. Which will bring together heads of state and government, along with more than 15,000 researchers, scientists, and institutional and community stakeholders in Nice.

The conference aims to build momentum around a historic agreement for the protection of the ocean. Reinforcing global cooperation and sustainability efforts.

Unfortunately, due to the late timing of my accreditation, I will not be able to attend the conference in person.

While I am disappointed to miss the chance to cover such a landmark gathering on location. I remain committed to following UNOC 2025 from afar, and contributing through digital storytelling and coverage via my media platform. The health of our oceans concerns us all — and the work continues, whether near or far.

I hope this is not the last time my path crosses with a global environmental summit. Nice welcomed me once, and I believe I will return — hopefully under more favorable timing.
