As a MABAPOST journalist and Media attendee from Tunisia, attending Web Summit 2024 with my first trip to Portugal between November 11 and 14, 2024, was a remarkable milestone. Lisbon’s destination, the vibrant capital of technology and innovation, for Web Summit 2024. An event I had been eagerly anticipating since 2017.
This conference, was an electrifying experience that brought together tech enthusiasts, innovators, and industry leaders from around the globe. With a record-breaking attendance of 71,528 participants from 153 countries, the event was a melting pot of ideas, inspiration, and groundbreaking technology.
One of the summit’s highlights was the focus on artificial intelligence (AI), which saw a 16% increase in presence compared to last year. The sessions delved into the opportunities and challenges of AI, with insightful conversations about balancing innovation with core product values
This was not only my first visit to Portugal, but also my inaugural flight to the Schengen space. Making it a deeply personal and professional milestone.
Lisbon: A City of Charm and Character
Lisbon welcomed me with its unique blend of modernity and historical charm. The city’s iconic architecture, lively streets, and welcoming atmosphere left an indelible impression. As I explored its neighborhoods, I was captivated by the interplay of tradition and innovation, a fitting backdrop for a conference like Web Summit.
