In March 2025, I completed all 5 modules in the English for Journalism MOOC. With a score of 100% from at least 70% in the following: Introduction to Journalism, How to Research, Pitch, Interview, Words in Print, Broadcasting the News, and New Media Journalism.

The OPEN program I participated in and awarded with a certificate of achievement is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. With funding provided by the U.S. government, and administered by FHI 360.

This online course helped me to improve both my English skills and knowledge of journalism at the same time. I studied principles of journalism, analyzing news and media sources, reading critically to detect bias and compare sources, and have gained new skills for writing articles. Conducting interviews, and delivering news in English.

I also learned course materials including video lectures, vocabulary flashcards, news articles, and videos, and speaking and writing assignments. Comprehension quizzes, and vocabulary and grammar quizzes.
